Recently acquired Turkistan tab that was said to have been found in a house clearance in Germany some time ago. Seems unmessed with but I have never seen rank pips on a tab like this before. Has anybody seen this before?

This type of "sterne" are often found on Luftwaffe shoulder straps,
but are found on Heer straps as well. -

A very interesting tab. It definitely looks original, but I never seen or heard of such rank combinations (mind you, with Eastern volunteers you can expect anything). The tab also looks well made (usually the volunteer tabs are in much lower quality and are bigger in size). The size and how its made and the ranking system applied - makes me think more of some sort of German paramilitary or veteran organization.Comment
