Tropical Pioneer Boards...

Hello,

I was wondering if I could have some opinions on these tropical Pioneer Boards? They looks good to me but I have been wrong a lot when it comes to Trop Boards...

I saw these on ebay and thought that the wear looked very contrived. They are well made but I didn't think that they are original. Some very good fakes have been made over the pasr few years and I think that this may be one of those sets.

Hi guys, this pair is identical with the one i had posted here:

What worries me is not the worn condition, if it's contrived or not. My suspicions are related to the linen of the tongues. I am looking everywhere but i can't find a matching linen material except from these 2 pairs.

The tongue on these WH tropical boards are lined with LW shirt material. It comes in a range of weaves from fine to course as the image below shows which is taken from this thread;

Well spotted! LW short material no doubt used for lining the tongues on examples in post 9!
