Strange Tresse on a white drillich uniform?

Hello, I found this drillich jacket floating around the internet and I was wondering if anyone had ever seen this sort of tresse before? Is this an early thing? Heer/Luft? My apologies for the poor photos, these are the closest I could get of the tresse.

Mid to late war SS.

This is the standard Heer tresse designed (with black edging) to show up against the neutral HBT background. It continued to be worn on field gray HBT tunics. The SS used a similar (tan) type for use on the tan (SS) tropical tunic.
