97. Jaeger Division Cap Insignia

A recent acquisition from Europe with other Gebirgsjager insignia.
Standard 3 oakleaves with superimposed shield with black feather
of the 97.Jaeger Division.
Mounted on dark green badge cloth, with cardboard reinforcement.
It's been sew on, and shows field wear.

Since I already have an example in the collection, this one will be
offered for sale on Estand after it has been vetted here.

These guys were some of the Vets I had the opportunity to speak with in the 1980s when I lived in Germany. I have a bunch of their photo albums. I will look this weekend and see if there are any examples of the insignia in wear. I have a post War stick pin they gave me of the insignia in color. They were a proud bunch. Had a lot of fun with them.
