Yes I agree. I have been looking around and have seen similar but not the same. It black light's fine . And thank you for the comment.

Does anyone think this eagle was a private purchase for an officer or NCO.

If it was flatwire or bullion, maybe for an officer. Being a White thread, early war for an enlisted soldier. Would make a nice eagle for a walking out dress uniform.
