Looks strange...no belt support hook/hole provisions either...no medical pouch...

It appears that is was constructed with British Denim material as used in British BD fatigues....????

Rather than a "fake" it probably is a tunic made post war for use as a costume in TV show or a movie etc.

              Johnny,
Maybe, but it's being sold as "original".

                jacket

A post war made is a fake and a fake is a fake.

It is not original but the seller may think it is. It looks more like an older costume.

In the 1970s a guy came to a show in the US with a garment rack full of tunics that were used in "Tobruk" and the "Desert Fox" etc. It was a long time ago but I remember they were like this. On the outside from a distance they looked passable but on the inside they were like this jacket. No attempt to make them look like originals on the inside, only on the outside as a costume to be used on the films.

A "fake" is meant to deceive and be sold as real etc. This probably started life not as a fake to be sold as real but as a costume. Anyone who is knowledgeable and has seen an original would not be fooled.
