I did some research about the artillerie in Erlangen, and picked up some original postcards that show the military presence in the town.

This card shows an artillerie barracks in Erlangen:

Two more cards, one showing the artillerie with "Greetings from Erlangen", and the other card shows a panzer barracks in the town.

I hope these add a bit of history to your uniform set, which looks great.

Yes definitely tailored in the "standordt" of that unit!

This NCO uniform is amazing, if you ever want to sell it knows who should offer.

                Reserach

High quality Wehrmacht Artillerie parade tunic and breeches trousers to a Leutnant serving with 2./Art.Rgt.17. This Leutnant must have been commanding the 2. Batterie pre war. In fact, research his unit in 1939 gives two possible names for the owner of this tunic: Leutnant Eichhorn and Leutnant Waldrab.
This officer has been highly decorated during WW2. There are several pair of loops for medals and awards such as an Iron Cross 1st Class, a Wound Badge and a General Assault Badge.

Willi Waldrab was promoted to Major in 1-10-43, Hans Eichorn was killed as a Lt. 10-9-39 in Poland just 8 days after the War started and not much time to earn the awards that would be on those loops. In 1939, the battery chef for the 2nd batterie was Hauptman Dr. Goettges, in addition to Eichhorn and Waldrab a third officer Lt. Riedel also was assigned to the battery. The stamp is a good indication of the Battery but not air tight. Sometimes different sub-units were assigned tasks for the parent unit. In one week 2nd battery may have inspected all tunics for the Regiment while other batteries were doing other tasks etc. It is hard to say for 100% but it is likely.

Thank you Johnny, your information is precious. You can find some photograph of some of these lieutenants? Or more information about their lives?
Again thank you for your information.
                            Thank you so much.

Eichhorn's service record probably was purged since he was killed so early in the War. Waldrab's records may be in NARA as may be Riedel's.

Given the rank on the jacket with several awards, you could also be dealing with an NCO who was commissioned later. This would explain the awards combined with the lower officer rank. I have a Nebel waffenrock for a man who was commissioned as an Lt. in 1945 after being enlisted and an NCO. He had a 5 medal bar and 3 war badges but one was a Lt.

After mid-1944 and getting worse over time towards the end of the War they had problems getting new Jr. officers for front line duties and many NCOs were given commissions as d.R. officers but rarely were promoted above Hauptmann before the war ended.

This is really amazing, something sensational.
Johnny, forgive my ignorance, but what is NARA?
I confess I am new to the collecting branch, but I am very willing to learn.
These info Sold that gave me are extremely valuable, so I can conclude that probably this uniform belonged to one of three lieutenants you comenteu in the post below, or else it could be attributed even a sergeant from the middle to the end of the war, this is correct? Or I got it wrong?
A few sentences of English still leave me confused, especially when using technical terms War II.
                                Thank you so much.
