Not a fan of this nametag...

It's an original Holters nametag, but who knows when it was filled in or when it was sewn onto this tunic.
For me, the big red flag with any Holters tag is the white stitching...at first glance it could look machine stitched but on closer inspection it is actually hand sewn to make it appear machine stitched. This same type of stitching can be found on many different types of original Holters tags which, apart from said stitching, seem to be pretty much all spurreously named to high ranking 'personalities'. They also always seem to be convieniently missing the Holters neck label.
Any convincing Holters tuics that I have seen have always had both labels present and both were machine sewn...surely Herr Holters would not have saved the ommission of neck labels and machine sewing for the pocket labels solely for General ranks!

I believe they perforated the nametag with evenly spaced holes prior to hand-stitching it in to give it the machine-sewn look - notice how the holes look a little big for the thread and they missed at least one hole that I can see - no way a machine did that. The pimped-out red lining also beggars belief, IMO.

I think Don is also referring to the handwriting which I do not like either. I agree that it may be hand stitched as the tension on the thread seems loose and varied.

These items to me, as with the LW set, are very similar to groupings of high ranking and important TR personalities that started appearing in the 1980s. People who remember NT Global will remember these types of groupings were falling out of the sky starting in the early mid-1980s.

What Happen to the Auction

I tried looking this auction up recently to follow what was the outcome. I can not find the auction now on the web. Does anybody know what the outcome was or the status?

I just want to make clear that contrary to my previous statement, I am now of the opinion that the label in question is a complete fake. This is due to the fact that I am now certain that the typeface used is a derivative of a postwar typeface ie. 'Helvetica'.
