    Vet Pickups Totally Random...

Was able to finally purchase a group that a local Cdn Vet had acquired when he was overseas.

Odd assortment of items...Also had a large State Service Flag.

That's the way to do it...nice score. How about a few close ups of the party armbands and inside out if possible.....? Oh heck just show it all so we can see them each closer front and back....stop teasing us....it will help identify some of the items

Sure, I can do that tomorrow. I do have some concerns about them. There is also a small stick pin that seems out of place.

      The 84 shoulders, smoke troops?

        imp. shoulder boards

The two large imperial era shoulder boards are: left, Oberstlt. Inf.Regt. 91; right, Oberstlt. 1st Guard Dragoon Regt.

Interesting to see that occasionally you find older imperial insignia in such groups...
Civilians would trade anything for food and/or cigarettes...this explains the diversity!
(as those could not be battlefield pick ups of course...). Most vets would not even be able
to make the distinction between war time, Weimar and imperial souvenirs...
or even what it all represented between the various branches.
Just war time bring back German souvenirs to them! Nice score!

              Some additional pics.

One strap loop is torn on the shoulder boards. Also looks like one was crushed as the pip is flattened along with the #4.

Looks like the one armband has been uniform removed.

Very nice score!! What is in the small cardboard box at the top of the first picture?

Not sure what the box is...printing is gone.

Sorry, the box had the cockade inside...not sure if it's original to the box or not.

The small stickpin is Dutch, it's the head of queen Wilhelmia sawn from a dutch silver coin. During the war it was worn by the dutch people as a sign of loyalty to the royal family and thus as resistance against the German occupants.

Nice also to see a waffenrock (parade tunic) quality breast eagle on remnants of a HBT tunic. Was an upgraded touch, now neat cut off!
