Hello,
I have never heard this about this French lining material. Does anybody have a French tunic of the period with this lining material in it?
I find it very strange that the manufacturing process for this eagle is totally different from all other printed insignia that they made during the period. The eagle appears to be sprayed on and adheers to the top of the cloth. The ink has not soaked into the material. Thanks.

While the printed eagle which started this thread is genuine in my opinion I dont recall ever seeing this exact type on a jacket. Usually one sees the type printed on smooth cloth like the example that Glenn contributed. Here are two cut-off examples, one of which was likely removed from an M-43 tunic as it is still sewn to a piece of tunic material:Attached Files

Here are some of mine. The funny thing is, I know the most about the printed collar tabs and exactly where they came from,

Some more, the collar tabs are printed exactly the same as this eagle on the "French Shirt" material, except the collar tabs show real wear and use.
The camo rank insignia for the sleeve was glued into a 22 Battalion NZEF veteran's album with pictures and other cloth insignia from Trieste May 1945. I have never seen another pair made this way,
Chris
