    GJ or PzGren?

Always the same question. GJ or PzGren?
Here is a overview of my GJ/PzGrenBoards and a foto from the back of two M44-boards. Are both PzGren or is the darker GJ?

Both of the M-44 straps are Pz. Gren. in my opinion.

M44 boards for Gebirgsjäger are piped with a much darker tone than the M36. See some from my collection below.

I wouldn't use that 99th Regiment Oberfeldwebel strap as a true indication of Gj.

I find it very odd that an "M-36" pattern strap with artificial silk piping would have Reichsheer era numbers on it. My first thought in looking at it is somebody mistakenly took a Schutzen NCO strap and humped it with the numbers of the wrong era, and for a regiment that didn't exist as a Schutzen unit.

Jager/Gj is a much deeper green, best represented by the corded piping on that private purchase strap at the top of your stack o' straps.

No,sorry, but the 99 is a real GebJg.

Here is the M44 with PzGren and early Schützen
The other Fotos show a midwar GebJg-Feldwebel.
