    Boards to a (hopefully) apoteker..

    Hello All,

In line with my medical addiction I wanted to find some apoteker-boards as well. I know that the nebenfarbe should be light green.

This board is, in my opinion, a private purchase board, never worn, and maybe for the Waffenrock. It has a small hole for the screw-in button (I believe).

The green inlay is different from what I have seen on other boards.

The nebenfarbe is not very light, but I dont believe there was any Beamte with dark green nebenfarbe. I guess it can only be apoteker..?..

Please let me know your opinions about these boards.

    Thanks for looking.!.

    Hans Kristian

The color usually is lighter green but like Jager and Panzer Gren there is no "correct" shade. How thick are these? Like reserve officers boards, they may have been period made by a tailor using regular army GJ/jager boards with the under boards and green braid added. This was done fairly often for piping colors that were more rare and harder to find.

          Hello Hans Kristian,

this are doubtless original boards in an interesting Variation of manufacturing.

You are right in your assumption, there was only one Kind of green secondary Color for "Beamte" (admins). You can find this Apotheker boards in very dark to very light green shades, and all are for the same branch.
The rank of your boards (without pips) is "Feldapotheker".

And all officer boards are "private purchased"

          Best regards,
          Andreas

That is a great set of boards. I am accustomed to seeing the nebenfarbe being more of a lighter shade of green, but still a nice set.

Johnny, the "nebenfarbe" is between 1 and 2 mm thick.

It is hard to say they could be factory made but I would learn towards being made from Jager/GJ boards but I of course do not have magical powers and know everything like other people on the forum .

I think this is a possibility and would explain the untypical way the green inlay thread was sewn on.

Thanks all for the comments and input.

This is my first pair, so I was a little confused, but on the other hand, I could not see other possibilities than feldapoteker.

I agree and have seen this done for Crimson boards like this made using Vet/GS boards.

I have often seen boards with the darker green nebenfarbe, sometimes almost a double HV waffenfarbe in darkness...often wondered WTF. I like your thoughts Johnny makes sense to me
                        .

Even on the same tunic you can get different shades of nebenfarbe.

                        Cheers
