    Heer M36 tunic for review

Hi guys. This tunic was bought through an AD around 1980. It has been in my collection for several years. I wanted to get some thoughts on it. Is the insignia reapplied? Is everything right on it? Is the maker well known?

The shoulder straps are sewn into the tunic. Is the correct rank here Hauptmann?

    Appreciate the help!

Looks like a very good privately purchased Hauptmann's tunic with a reapplied EM eagle.

Thank you Jeremy. Thought the eagle might be reapplied and that it might be private purchase. Its good that the manufacturer labelled it well. I have not been able to find pictures from a similar tunic online...

It looks to be a flatwire NCO/officer type bird..Is it sewn over the top of another?

The eagle is very bulky. I thought it might have been surrounding fabric being folded under the eagle. I`ll investigate it more closely after work.

                      Thank you Glenn

Glenn is correct. I missed that it is indeed a flatwire eagle which could be applied to officer's tunics. It still does seem to sit funny on the tunic, though.

I didn´t find any signs of any eagle under the flatwire eagle. The fabric around the edges is folded beneath it all around and makes it seem like it sticks out more. The sewing seems professionally done. with good spacing and thread.

There is one small black thread sticking out on the right side where you pointed out that there might have been another eagle Glenn. Maybe the old thread kept an earlier eagle in place...

Very good..I thought it may have been the edge of another eagle's dark green wreath.
