    Cypher

I was looking through the heer strap article and was puzzled by one of the cyphers.

What does the embroidered "P" stand for on the enlisted man's panzer strap?

    Thanks!

Anti-Tank Bn. Sometimes you'll find them with just the 'P' and sometimes you'll find them with the Bn. number as well.

Here is an embroidered example on a 'transitional' strap.

          Panzerjäger & Panzer Abwehr

Hi guys! I had to chime in too. Pre-war to early war, the units were refered to as Panzer Abwehr (Tank Defense), later it was changed to Panzerjäger (Tank Hunter). Since both Panzertruppe & Panzerjäger both wore the Rosa Waffenfarbe, one would assume that the "P" was used as a method of differentiating between the two branches. Here is a salty "PL" strap for Panzerabwehr Lehr.
