Here's one. Two men wearing pocketless waffenrocks (in various states of conversion).
Note also Italian army single breasted great coat on the right! They used whatever was available!
and Volkssturm collar tabs on the far left.

Second period image shows a HJ member in Volkssturm service also wearing a converted waffenrock (for field use).
The collar and cuffs are modified and complete removal of waffenrock waffenfarbe piping!
He has added his HJ unit shoulderstraps! (but lacks a Volkssturm armband...)

Thanks Lambert and Steve! Here's a chart showing their rank system,
so my impression is a "Platoon leader"
and another image of the HJ kid wearing a modified Waffenrock with field grade Heer collar litzen.

Both retaining the stock sew-in Waffenrock shoulderstraps. (supposed to be removed for Volkssturm use)
