Yes, Wade did get out of Panzer collecting. Many of his items have been sold of in the last year. I was fortunate to get a few choice items, and several of my friends have also. He sold items through various friends sites and dealers.
It is too bad it had to come to that.

I heard Wade collects Napoleontic items now. Maybe in the future he will make a book of that material too.

Does this mean that he simply grew tired of collecting the panzer stuff or was the getting rid of the collection due to something else? It's not my prerogative to sit here and guess and contemplate why he sold off his collection as it's not my business but I can't help feeling "sad" that he got rid of it. Those photos of his collection was impressive. To say the least. I have my sights set on one of the dog tags I guess he used to own though.

Nevertheless, I guess his Napoleonic book will be as informative as the panzer ones.

Yes, Wade is now collecting Napoleontic .. Last year he shared a few images with me of some of his amazing peices from this new collection .. Sadly I have not heard from him this year but I did manage to get a couple of really nice items from his Panzer collection when he first starting letting items go, one being a rather beautiful wrapper featured in his lastest Pz book .. I hope he is well in the land of the eternal sun ..

Slightly OT but: If certain TR militaria is at times rare and hard to get ahold of I shudder to think how hard it might be to acquire Napoleonic militaria...

Aside from that I shoulnd't repeat myself about the shame any more as I'll probably get booted of the forum for acting like a scratched vinyl record. Nevertheless: congrats on whatever items from his collection you managed to get ahold of. By the way, that got me thinking; are there any regimental panzer banners out there (in private collections) that aren't replicas? Remember seeing one (replica banner) in one of the photos of Wade's collection.

Wade didn't look too good to a lot of people after selling a put-together HG wrapper to a young and impressionable Tom Mumby, and wouldn't take it back. Maybe this was a catalyst to sell his stuff, who knows.
