    Tropical Boards and Shirt verifcation

    Hello Gentleman,
I have been offered the following DAK/Tropical EM shoulder boards and a tropical shirt. As I am a novice at tropical collecting, I would very much appreciate your comments.

    Thank you in advance.

    Bob

The shirt is not the typical Heer pattern. It should have metal tunic buttons on the pockets and two button cuffs to mention a couple of anomalies. The straps are not wowing me either.

              Bob,

the shirt has some issues, no bridles for straps, not metal buttons... its not a standard issue Heer tropical shirt by any means. The straps are not giving me the war fuzzies, perhaps its just the photos... some nice clear shots in daylight would help as these are a little dark. That said I'm not holding my breath on these, but would like the better shots before I say one way or the other. Matt

Not sure on the shirt but echo concerns with OSS & Matt. Straps attempt to come close but no cigar

The shirt with metal buttons were in German productions, there were many others made in others country occupied, so the manufacturer was different for each country! About the shoulders slip, they comes out e-stand, and nobody contested them when it for sell, and now what is happening guys? Yes, i'm the owner of these original stuff, and i said to this guy to post them here only because i known what i'm offering to, thanks!

                      Mayer,

We don't catch all repros offered on the estand. Hell when i brought up the fakes that Rikster is making and selling to one of the moderators nothing happened and his stuff gets better and better. That said these are bad based on what im seeing but opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one. You and the potential buyer are the only two that have to be fine with your definition of what is original. Im a student like many others here on this forum and have been wrong many times before. In this case im about as sure as i can be that they are bad based on what im seeing. Again, its just a few peoples opinions and you are the only one who has to like them. Matt

The shirt could be an original but its certainly not a standard tropical shirt. Most "tropical" shirts were either German made, French shirts used by the Germans some with modification for shoulder boards or some Italian shirts. This is probably a period shirt that was bought but not specifically for tropical use. Again, its just an opinion and take it as such. I have seen tons of non standard originals trashed on the forum and am probably more open to variations than most. Matt

The shirt is a copy imo too.

Being a copy is a rule out, but that for reasons that you surely don't care! I'd more agree with Matt' opinion, it could makes more sense. Then, the shirt is marked with a Rb.Nr and numbered 2 as size, it never had loops for any shoulder slip, i got other two of these, one German made and a French one, all three has the same colors, but all three with different features, but very similar and not period modified, that is all i can add again! Thanks in any case for yours opinions...

I'd like to handle the straps before condemning them, but there are details I do not like initially (the tongue backing material, the button-hole finishing are just two).
The shirt mimics the 'later' style pull-over tropical pattern, but there are some construction details missing that cause me concern. No large shoulder re-enforcement panel, the set of the cuff-buttoning system and the almost 'French' pocket construction (no clipped lower corners).
Can we see the stamps mentioned?
The 'later' pattern shirt did not feature dished pocket buttons so that is consistent - but I would like to see the back and cuffs in detail as well as the stamps before making any further comment.
                              Regards,
                              Mark.
