Sloppy painting of the letters and to fat around the swastika.
So I think this one is not an original.

If this is original, than it is a pattern I have not seen yet...

I agree, your Assmann gorget is a reproduction. The eagle has an over sized wreath which is a bad start. Also the placement of the eagle is wrong, too low. As stated above, the paint job on the letters is sloppy. Finally, the wool on the back is wrong color and material type.

I agree. The first is bad and the second is good. That wreath with the sloped edges is an immediate red flag. IMO all of the eagles on these should look like the second one, with a nice little round head and beak. I've had versions from 3 different makers and they all had the same type bird.
