Anyway, I finally received a couple of great deals on Ebay... If these items turn out to be fake... , but I do not think so...

Come on :-( So there are no problems with any of these items? Does anyone know what the "pink" collar tab is?

    Thanks

Thank you... One can never be too sure... even on the more common of items. As far as the pink tab is concerned... The link provided wont allow me to see the pics on that particular forum...

So it belongs to a police agency?

        Thank you, Bob!

Here they are. These belong to ORPO.......I know nothing about the Gemeindepolizei, but recognized the "tobacco" colour.

I have this one. It's faded and is the more common colour than your tobacco one....I think the unit's full name was Schutzpolizei des Gemeinden. Also called 'GemPo' on the forums. If I'm not mistaken, it was a relatively short lived organization.

Thank you all so far... but what is the ORPO? I have never heard of this branch either... lol... I have tons of books but nothing lists this branch of police...

                    Best regards

By the way, nice looking panzer overseas hat!!! I am not a big one for insignia... knowledge wise... you might start another thread in this area or the Panzer area...

ORPO is the member who owns them (and the photo), I should have said.

                        Hi Paul,

The color of your collar tab should be wine-red (weinrot) instead of carmine (karmesin) if it represents the Gemeindepolizei instead of the Feuerschutzpolizei. The Gemeindepolizei (GEMPO) were the municipal police of small towns that were absorbed into the regular municipal police during the war. The regular municipal police are referred to as the Schutzpolizei (SCHUPO) and have green backed collar tabs.

Thanks to Bad Bob for posting the link to the tabs on the other forum as I am "ORPO" on that forum and "SCHUPO" on this one. Anyway, those are my collar tabs and they appear to be the same tab as the one you have. The ORPO moniker refers to the Ordnungspolizei, that comprised the municipal, rural, fire-fighting, etc uniformed regular police as sub-organizations. The German police structure is relatively confusing...but that is the short answer.

Bob's rather neat collar tab on part of the collar is pretty neat too. His collar tab is the variety that has aluminum Litzen instead of tobacco colored Litzen and his tab would have been worn by a higer ranking NCO than the one you have. A good find on ebay...enjoy!
