I don't like the construction and have never seen this type mounted on shoulder boards.

John, I'll measure tonight, but they look to be about the size for collar tab rank pips for SA/SS/Political.

I've never seen this pin/prong arrangement.
Pips themselves look convincing.

DDR maybe? they do look "new"-ish
I have some DDR pips that look the same although the prongs are different, can post a pic later....
