So far I know the breast eagle and medal bar are reproductions. What do you gentlemen think of this field blouse? All input appreciated

Please since this is an expensive lesson for me

Please tell me more. It was described as 100% world war 2 era. Condition excellent. I knew that the collar liner buttons were missing and a 9 ribbon bar on an em tunic gave me some doubts.

Would this be grounds to return it to an auction house?

If you bought it as original of course !
Many reasons : repro cloth , repro cotton lining , real plastic small buttons...
I think only the metal buttons are original ?

Ive been told its a respectable house. Should I blacklight test it? I'm sure they will say its correct and whoever said it wasn't doesn't know what they are talking about. Wouldn't that be a typical response? This is really disappointing. If anyone can help me on how to approach this please pm me.

Sorry to hear that you brought a lemon! (fake) jacket!

Just contact them, and explain that your'e a member of a well known Military Forum , and you just put it up for discussion, and was informed it was a copy!(it may work as most company's don't like bad publicity) Then see what their response will be! If good and they refund your'e funds and take it back no problem, but if they tell you to jump on your'e bike and piss off! Either way post up the response and let us know.

Also another area it may work, is if your'e Country has a consumer protection department (here in OZ we have consumer affairs) that you can contact for assistance in matters like this.

I hope it works out for you, one thing did you pay top dollar for it?

                            Update

The auction house agreed to take the jacket back with a full refund. Thanks to al who helped save me from a colossal mistake. I guess I need to buy the book before purchasing a field blouse. Can anyone suggest a thorough reference book? Thanks guys

If I were you, I would buy this :

                              http://www.amazon.com/Feldbluse-Germ.../dp/2352500109

... and read a lot on the WAF what has been written by forum members about the German Felbluse, especially the '36 one.

                              Best Regards,

                              320
