    Boards for review

Hi guys are these boards for a Gebirgsjäger Oberleutnant?

I can't see any red flags but i just wanted to have your confirmation.

    Cheers

    Gj

At first glance, I would not say they are specifically GJ.

      Thanks for the reply.
If not GJ, any other ideas?

The Kriegsmarine used a dark green piped board for their field gray uniforms, perhaps these could be that type?

These scans came from a Gebirgsjaeger Flak board, notice the difference in the hues of green? Of course, these are what is "supposed' to be, what was actually worn could be a whole different story, aka "The Green Waffenfarbe Conundrum"!

I think that they are Army Administration slip-ons for the Raincoat or Overcoat that have had the green stripe on top removed then the tops have some how been darkened? The Green base color says Admin. The pip dod not have the same type of age as the rest of the board.

Hi guys thanks for the thoughts.
The base color looks indeed more like Admin Waffenfarbe.

Pre War and early War Jager and early GJ used a dark green like this. It looks to me it is possible the thin green thread that would be seen on a HV board may have been removed? This is done sometimes to increase the value of HV boards and sell them as "jager". There is a little difference in the age toning where the thread would have been. Were devices removed from it? Are the holes on the underside in the middle?

They're shiny...maybe appropriate for LW Feld Division?
(their hues of green were all over the place!)

These have a very high silver content in the braid and are preWar for Heer. I do not think they are for a LW field division.

Hi Nick and Johnny, thanks for the replies.
Unfortunately i don't have them in hand therefore i can't tell if there are holes on the reverse.
Although they are for sale for 30 euros i thought not to take the risk since they look to be HV and those would not be needed for my tunic restorations.

                      Hello,

I was looking at these also. They appear to be to me Reichsheer Jaeger or Gebirgsjaeger boards. The are early manufacture with a quality metal content. They could also be Coastal arty in my opinion.

                              Hello,

After looking at these boards again, I like mwliles assessment. There is a prominent space where the admin line appears to have been removed.
