    Deteriorated Insignia in the bottom of an Ammo Box

    These were found in the bottom of an Ammo Box of German WW2 Vintage...I can only imagine what was once in there....the cloth that was left all had considerable damage...there are some damaged bevo army cap eagles, a collar tab, LW chevron, cockade, shoulder board...what a shame...

        Fred: That's what I was thinking too. Also in the box was the upper part of an SA 3 piece dagger hanger...so it means that a dagger or daggers were in the box too...I suspect the vet used the box to mail things home.

          Hey John,

          at least its origonal !!!!! reminds me of some years ago when digging in the falaise gap a dump of uniforms were found but only a few buttons and some ostvolk medals were fit for saving
