    Bergmütze "T" insignia?

Just picked up the "T" insignia on the right, never had one with a white eagle - were these intended for use on the bergmutze? Or also early M43 caps?
    Thanks,
    Fred

Just an early style "T" for the Bergmuetze.

The 'T' form were originally used for the Bergmütze. They needed to combine the eagle and cockade above the flap buttons, whereas the M34/38 field cap had the cocade sewn to the flap front where the buttons used to be.

You will find the 'T' patch sewn to some M43's, but it is more likely to find them on M42's.
