Please HELP with GENERALS shoulder boards

Dear Forum Members,

I would very much appreciate your opinion on these 'pre-war style' Generals boards. They are on a pre-war "Reichswehr style" tunic. I have never before seen this middle embroidered strap attached to the underside of shoulder boards. Has anyone encountered this style / patten? I would be very greatful for any feeback and/or opinion, I always love to learn and appreciate when other share their knowledge and opinion.

The boards look good to me. The loops are called Passanten and indicate he was retired "a.D" but was given the privilege to still wear his service uniform after retirement.

In the late 1970's I had a lightweight Generalmajor's tunic with similar shoulder boards. They were obviously original to the tunic but I was not a fan of the one-piece red cloth underlay look and traded the tunic. It did not have the "retired" loops however. Still don't miss it!

This is an older "WWI style" board base that was used in the RH and through the war. It is fairly common to see in Field grade and General Officer "T" boards for KM and Heer tunics as well. IMO it is all probably period including the Passanten.

Many Thanks to everyone for the information. I had no idea what these underside tabs were intended for nor what they signified. The boards are 100% original to the pre-war Reichsheer style tunic. Here are images of the tunic as requested. It has loops for a very long ribbon bar, loops for two badges on the left side and loops for one badge on the right side below the pocket. The tunic is not named unfortunately.
