Summer combat tunic

    Hi Pierre,

    very strange...it looks like a work jacket with added pockets and eyelets for the belt hoks.....in this case it would be intersting to ascertain whether all these mods have been made before May 1945 (in my opinion they do and in this case we'd revise our comments on the insigna) or if somebody has tried to turn a work jacket into a desirable first pattern HBT combat tunic!

      Im with Manny on this.
      Along with the already identified collar problems and the new photos show no field dressing pocket,nor partial liner,Also the points Manny picked out(buttons,etc),this definately looks like converted hbt work tunic,not a factory issued combat HBT tunic.
      HBT tunics were an issue drill/work tunic since 1933 and after going through years of modification,were officially issued as a summer combat uniform in 1940.
      Due to the fact this is obviously a converted work tunic,the insignia may well of been added during the post 36 period but most probaly by the tunic owner.Certainly not in this configuration did this originate from an official uniform factory.
