It's for shure a foreign made bird. For me a coast artillery breast eagle. -

is it coastal because of the yellow faded thread as the eagle is quite golden coloured & promenant which made me wonder what it was.Comment

Arthur, I base mine opinion on the quality of wool the eagle is mounted on. Can't imagine a General not being able to afford the higher quality wool for his tunic.Comment

Likely the latter, but could be a general's eagle. You will never know. Just because every general could afford nice things didn't mean that every (or any uniform) they had was sublime. There are a lot of people with money who are frugal, and/or don't have the highest standards of quality.
