    Insignia Grouping for Review

Here is a grouping of Insigne that came from a soldier that served in the 1st Mountain Division. Everything looks good to me, what are your thoughts? Also the insignia with the lemon yellow "54" shows signal? Also what was that used for?

All looks good to me. Nice insignia!
The yellow number on cloth is a slip on shoulder strap, introduced in 1940, easier than producing numbered shoulder straps. The number is a unit numeral for signals or reconnaisance I believe.

Looks like the same insignia from this grouping on Virtual Grenadier:

I will never part it out, that would be to ruin history and to disgrace that soldier.

The slide is very nice. First one I have seen for that unit: Gebirgs-Nachrichten-Abteilung 54.
