M43 for review and opinions please.

Hi all, I'm thinking about buying this M43 tunic. Tresse is suppose to be original to tunic but all other insignia was added by seller and he states they are all original insignia and the wound badge is included. He used period german thread. What are y'alls thoughts on a "restored tunic". What would one like this go for ifNever owned an original, though I have a few good repo's Lost Battalions, At the Front models. Thanks for all feedback.

Looks as described by the seller, collar tabs are earlier type then the tunic would have been built with however if had at a very good price it would be a decent display tunic all kitted out on a half bust or a mannequin.
there would be no harm in adding the late war gray tabs to the collar if you like or leave it as is. medal loops are added postwar also from the looks of them. the wound badge would add very little to the value of the tunic though I do like the well worn look of it.

Seems a pritty decent worn tunic. If the price is good...

Can pick it up for under $700.00. I think that's a fair price.

Yes under $700 is in line for price, price should be the cost of a stripped M43 tunic + the cost of one set of NCO shoulder straps + the cost of any applied insignia = total.

Go for it! it will be a decent first tunic for you to work with, now you can start to get your field gear rounded up, I would look for a nice mid to later war belt and steel buckle, then later 43-44 Y-straps followed by ammo pouches, bread bag etc... etc.....
if and when possible be sure to buy 43-44 made gear like the canteen, mess kit, Bayonet and frog, this is really my favorite part of collecting! I really love the hunt and when finished feel great and have always learned something. the hunt for me is a great way to learn and research different pieces. study as many period photos of men and their gear to learn different ways it was worn for your display.

                            Have fun!

I did forget to mention with later war tunics anything goes though, you can use earlier gear as much was re issued and can also mix webbed and leather items and be A-OK!
