    LW collartabs on LW greatcoat?

    Hi!
Today i got a Luftwaffe greatcoat, its a early exemple stamped 1930-something (Not sure of the last number).
You can clearly see traces of FLAK collartabs on the collar, and i got a pair of LW collartabs with it, so should i sew these on or leave it as it is? Would like it a bit like a battle of the bulge solider when i have it set up
    best regards: Lasse.

Lasse, by the time of the bulge, you'd really not see collartabs on Luftwaffe greatcoats. I would leave them off if that is the look you are after.

            Ok:
My friend from norway got this from a man, who when checking out a AA battery, there in one of the metall boxes that I think they stored ammo in he found it, took it home, sold it cheap to my friend, who had it hanging at his house for a while, but he had no intresst in luftwaffe stuff, so he sold it cheap to me

Not the most exiting story, but its always nice with a bit of a background.

              here it is:

Belt is swedish, shall be replaced, eastgerman breadbag, shall also be replaced, and a repainted german stick grenade.
The greatcoat is IMO pretty textbook, all the buttons correct (Same marker and all) nice marking, made 1939, and overall a pretty nice greatcoat for the 55 euro i got it for.

When did they stop putting tabs on greatcoats? Did all branches wear tabs? Seems rare to see them.

Nice greatcoat Lars! I would say to put those tabs on it and make it the way it once was; very beautiful.

                  Talk to you later!

Enlisted ranks were supposed to removed greatcoat collar tabs by 1 Sep 1942.
