    Tropical Shirt

I have been looking for a ww2 German issue tropical shirt, and saw this one. Does anyone have any ideas on this shirt? Is it original ww2 german issue? Or is it possibly french manufacture. Any responses would be appreciated.

I usually like to see the Triangle material at the base of the shirt where the 2 pieces of fabrik meet, and shirt tab inserts under the collar instead of button down collars, and shoulderboard slip ons, which this does not appear to have?

    Hi Galizien,
it's a WW2 French shirt factory-modified DURING WW2 BY and FOR the Germans. It's not LW in spite of its short sleeves and the color inside isn't grey, rather a faded green which originally was very similar to the hue of the WW2 Canadian Pattern Battledress.
I can tell it with a 454554543887% certainty, and I won't disclose here the details on how to tell such a shirt for the life of me...it's definitely overpriced for the US market (last week I bought an identical, mint, factory modified long-sleeved shirt in Milan and I've payed €150 for it!), even if it remains a nice, interesting specimen of a Foreign shirt officially "pressed into service" and used by a member of the German Heer!

P.S.;This shirt hasn't the buttons for the shoulderboards but the slits for them are still there...since you're concerned by the "triangle" of fabric at the bottom of the sides you should have known that tropical-issue German shirts(and the French and British Aertex ones they modified) had the buttons of the chest pockets and of the shoulderboards held by S-rings;the eylet of the button was inserted in the slit and kept in place by means of a steel S-ring!

      Manny,
Thanks for the info. I had a feeling it was not quite original ww2 german issue. Thanks for clearing that up. French pressed into service makes sense!
