I don't know about scarce but I see a lot more heer eagles than Zoll eagles.

Its a fine original and far from scarce. I have probably owned 1/2 a dozen of these over the last 5 years. Matt

Maybe unissued (and the metal ones) are easier to find but cap removed onces like mine (albeit damaged) are scare and more difficult.

Nice examples Ron! It appears that yours are an enlisted pattern in white thread and the ones that started the thread,
as well as my example are flat silver woven... so I assume a higher officer quality.
I always thought these all came in (just) silver flat wire ...(just like their customs cuff titles)
