    Richtschützenabzeichen

An uncle of my father, he was Richtschütze with the Geb. Art. Rgt. 79 (7.5 cm Gebirgsgeschütz 36)

Very nice photo and family collection. I have an artillery nco tunic to art rgt 79.

Nice photo of the insignia in wear on a field tunic later in the war. The badge was for a gun layer and was most commonly referred to as Richtabzeichen. The tunic is very nice, looks like an M40 with earlier collar insignia applied.

The "Richtabzeichen" in the photo does not appear to be BeVo, but either hand embroidered like one of the examples of Fred Green or a machine embroidered one like this one (at right):

Looking at Fred's again, they both appear to be machine embroidered as well.
