AN odd uniform with wide collar

This tunic did not sell on Fleabay last night. It is described correctly as a Police uniform and is marked as such "PO 1942" but its a strange one...
Note (how can you miss that) the wehrmacht green (oversized) collar added...

Based on the button count (8) and pack panel with center seam it started life as a prewar pattern Police Rock uniform but its still field quality wool...not civilian police gabardine (finer) wool...
Those had dark brown collar and cuffs. Did it start out like that? Probably, but now entirely in Police color green with collar if army field gray...
    Volkssturm modification???

At first I though it was a Dutch conversion (tunic is located in Holland) but is has the correct German 8 button count (for rocks) not 7 and Dutch ones lack the center seam...
and the lining is obviously not Dutch either..(German pattern)

Note the "disco fever" collar? (off a great coat???)

      first aid... and markings...
Definitely Polizei and a curious thing with that wide WH collar...
Now it could be folded I guess as a partial stand up collar (with flaps) so it sits a lot taller (higher) and the lapels
would become much narrower but it lacks extra neck hooks for that set up...

Probably a postwar reworked tunic for the police. Old green police uniforms continued to be worn by the police in the late 1940s with modifications and removal of wartime insignia. These were replaced with blue uniforms and then green ones again after the war.

Agreed! I offered the seller 250E for it...because of the rework...Will see what happens (he wanted 400E)...
Prewar pattern Rock uniforms (this one made in 1942) did not have bandage pouches, right? So besides the collar and cuff mods
that's another post war alteration, correct?
