Drillich jacket - original or fake?

Hi everybody,
I'm fresh and I need your opinion. Is it original or fake?
Size is very small. Buttons are painted. There are no markings or stamps.
Please help me.

I like it.

Especially with that added green collar and early pattern style.

Used HBT don't hold their markings well either.

Hello Fulzi, you will find most wartime jackets are considered a smaller size by today's standards.
when something is a very large size it deserves a second look as most reenacting tunics are made larger to fit the wearer and often have convincing wear and real insignia sewn on.
You see then these are often sold as a wartime original, you have heard the story! it is the one that dear old Grandpa Pete brought home from the war after storming the beach at Normandy, then taking it off the dead German he killed in the pillbox or something like that.
your HBT looks good and I like them worn as this one is compared to the mint closet queens often found. are any of the buttons maker marked? this one should be fun to restore and as such if and when you sell it please be upfront about this fact.

I admire your knowledge in this field. After twenty years of collecting "steel", I would begin to explore the uniforms. The only thing that limits me is dishonest sellers and my little experience ofcourse!
I hope that you will be able to help me next time.
