John, you are exactly right. There are numerous obstacles that you have to overcome to land vet buys these days. Everyone thinks that this stuff is worth a million dollars from watching tv shows. Family drama and so on...However, with that being said, vet buys are still one of the most exciting aspects to our hobby. If you are a new collector and have never been able to buy items out of the woodwork, it really is 10 times more rewarding than clicking a mouse button and buying from a dealer on the web.
