Strange stitching on an armband??

Field repair or refitted? The armband looks good to me....

Been searching and found some that look like it and then some that look like what a normal armband would look like..... any reason why?

I have no experience with armbands but I do collect flags.

With those you will find a gamut of stitching techniques and combinations used.
So armbands being mass produced a variety of companies would of produced them.


Im sure it simply comes down to which company made it and what sewing machines they had.ZigZag machines for example were more expensive than straight line machines.So it may of come down to what the company could afford in regards to equipment.

I own one of these armbands and it looks about the same size as yours but it is the more conventional stitching that you usually see. I think Keifer is probably right with the different type of stitching and machines that were available in the factory's

Stitching is fine. Armband is fine.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts and opinions. Interesting how there is 2 stitching styles for this armband though. Probably the maker as said. Thanks again!

just out of interest, does the reverse side of the zig zag stitch have two rows of straight line machine stitch??

This armband isn't in my possession so I we only have the pictures. It looks like 1 zig zags though...

Stitching is fine. There is not one universal style of stitching. More important to look at other aspects of armband to prove originality. On another note here; many armbands were brought home that were not sewn. Kids would run around playing war with them. I have seen some armbands where an American mother had sewn the two ends together so the boys could wear them when playing outside. I have no issues with this armband as far as I can see.
