          tabs

Wool piping is a pre-war and early war feature.

Nice early wool piped set. Is that piping red or pink? It just looks red on my monitor. Great set.

The change over year was 1940 to 1941. I do not know as mach about panzer as I do about the the troops sent to Afrika in 1941 but the change would be happening at the same time for the Panzerwaffe.

In 1940, approx. 85% of the tropical uniforms made and ready for issue had shoulder boards with wool piping, approx. 15% were issued with rayon piping.

By 1942, wool piping on newly issued boards is very low to almost be null. However, it is seen again in the later half of 1944 as old stocks are used up and boards of pre-war, parade and walking out dress are recycled or pressed into service.

This looks to be a very nice panzer grouping taken and removed from the tunic. Just the was I like them

                    Chris

                        Collani,

Great set man, if that missing swastika bothers you too much I would be happy to take those eye sores off of your hands. Great grouping. Matt
