          Got a question chaps.

What are these worth. I have seen them for sale on one web site for $1200 US and I contacted a well known dealer and he told me it is worth about $450 and he would not be interested in it unless .......

" I would not be interested in this band unless it was very very cheap. "

Confused guys so an honest response from someone would be appreciated.

          Cheers

          Ross

One more thing. The dealer had an identical band to my one in his archives and here is the description he had on it word for word :

" A superb quality armband for the Local Group Leader, or Ortsgruppenleiter. The armband features a gold bullion 16mm woven central oakleaf stripe edged with 2 1mm gold bullion stripes, a 2mm gold bullion stripe at the armband top and bottom edges, and the blue piping signifying Orts level. The white disc and black swastika are also bordered with gold bullion cording with a gilt metal political pip in the center of the swastika. The red wool body is still bright and beautiful and retains its original J level RZM label. The armband is of the final Political Leaders pattern introduced in 1939, and is the most difficult Orts level armband to find. A choice and magnificent example! "

            Ross,
Realistically....for a "Orts level".....IMO retail value should be $350/400.00 range...(+/- $100. depending on condition, etc.), of course, dealers want to pay 50/60.
$1200. for this "level" is ridiculous (IMO).

Lot's of "Dealers" put thier collections "for sale" at 300% value....so they look like "high rollers" and once in awhile some idiot pays those "ultra" prices....(I call them the "Doctor, Lawyer, Drug Dealer crowd").... so when they sell...the item can be replaced and they still make "200%"....

Of course, if you "over-paid" in the first place.... that can be a problem.

Here we go again ? You know how much you want, you just need to find a buyer willing to pay the price.

What do you mean " here we go again ". Are you trying to be smart.
I was just asking a genuine question and I got an honest answer from the member above. And I thank him.

I got this armband in the early 80s from an old school honest dealer who did not rip people off like the web site I was referring to that had 1200 on one.

Am not selling it at this stage. I was just intrigued by the large discrepancies I found on the web.
