    Philipp,

you may want to think about converting those measurements for our fellow WAF users from Myamar, Liberia and the USA who are not using the Metric system yet. Remember what happened to BaselA, when he unpacked his General's portrait?

Thank you for the kind comments Etienne and Kurt.
It seems that I am on a run - two more than beautiful oil paintings with in a few days.

      - @ Kurt - that might be a good idea.
      The painting measures 51,96 x 36,61 inch

      Cheers,
      Philipp

it took 2 postal workers to carry the box out! One asked if I had ordered a kitchen table!

I just added this extremely unusual "life"-size painting. At first I figured this may have been hard to get by National Socialistic censorship but the exact opposite was the case.

Granted, it's a very romantic view of death on the Eastern front but I found it hard to believe that this would boost morale as even in 1942 (when this was painted), lots of men had already died in the Winter campaign.

I'm still learning and as a matter of fact, this piece was officially displayed in the Große Deutsche Kunstausstellung 1942 in Munich ...

Pretty interesting piece in my opinion. I have added some more pics next to a visor and uniform for size comparison.
