    Panzer Collar Tabs

    Hello,
I am just after opinions on these collar tabs from any of our resident experts. To me the skulls look a little too large for the tabs (or the tabs may be too small for the skulls). The tabs look to have rather rough construction compared to many which I have been able to find on the forum and in books.
These are the only pics that I have as the skulls are on a website at the moment.
    Your opinions are greatly appreciated.
    Mark

          Mark,

these look very bad....and as suggested above...."leave them alone" would be the best advice! Cheers, Wade K.

            Thank you gentlemen,
I will do as suggested and leave them alone. Wasn't quite sure and wanted to check first.
            thanks again.

While I would not take them in to my collection either and believe they are not a good set, let me comment in a slightly different way:

IF they are authentic, they would have to be considered "Erzatz" or locally fabricated/hand made/not issue in my opinion. I think the skulls are originals. The black wool looks like it could be perios cloth, but who knows, and the piping is considerably different. Not aving them in hand, and given that my commenst abover are accurate, I think the tabs are small (versus the skulls ouver-sized).
The piping looks white - so either Luftwaffe (rare and not my collecting field, but my passing interest notes that many Luftwaffe Pz tabs are not Heer standard in size or construction), or FBB - in which case they are exceedingly rare and the few I have seen in the flesh (and those seen in photos) have almost as a rule always been/looked to accepted construction standards.
