I had a close look at the board, and you might be correct. It could be a faded and dirty rosa colour.

Even so, it is an interesting board.

By the way, Angolia & Schlicht's Uniforms & Traditions of the German Army Vol 1 does specifically state (under Schnelle Truppen und Panzertruppen on page 345) Motorcycle Battalions used K plus number on white, pink, golden yellow, and grass green! and number only on copper brown.

    David!

            The MS-pair in my collection

            Dear Michael (Pruett),

Thanks for your kind reaction! I was a bit busy but did not forget your question regarding the chainstitched 'MS'-boards....hereby the requested pictures.

I deem that the pair was intended for a dress-tunic...they were clearly worn and were 'cut-off'. Nevertheless a rare and nice pair I think!

            Best regards,

            Mario ('Coco')

Nothing amazing, but these are my current favourite Heer boards, with slides for the 246th Aufklarungs/ Reconn battalion of the 246th Infantry Division, which was destroyed on the Eastern Front at Vitebsk in late June 1944, later reforming as the 246th Volksgrenadier Division.

Thanks to Mario Hiscoll for the boards, and Virtual Grenadier for the slides!

                  Regards, Paul

I like pioneer boards. These boards are nice because they are well-worn and came with the Wehrpass. The soldier may have worn these boards while earning a Krim shield and at Kursk as part of III.Armeekorps.

Here are a couple more. These did not come as sets, but I like them anyway.

The picture and strap did not come together; but, in a sense they go together. Notice the Feldwebel is wearing an Italian-German Africa campaign medal, bronze PAB and green Waffenfarbe. Too bad you can't see if he is wearing a cufftitle.
