Reichswehr collar patches info.

Hello,
talking about the Reichsheer, is there anyone who can explain me the difference between those 2 models of collar patches present in the photos i have enclosed in this topic? They have the same shape but one is bigger than other. How and when they were wore ?

Hello Alex,

I believe the large sized ones are the 1919 pattern and the smaller sized ones are the 1928 pattern. I am at work and do not have my references at hand so the dates might be incorrect.

i understand what you said; the smallest ones were introducted with the 6 front buttons dienstrock...Interesting.

Hello Alex,

Sorry for the delay in answering back. Glen is correct with his link. It describes the provisional and early Reichsheer uniforms in great detail.

Here are a couple of examples that I have. The first picture is of the large style collar tabs for the provisional army for transport and artillery.

The third set of picture is of 3 single small style collar tabs on wool and the 4th set is of an infantry single on moleskin.
