    Foreign Volunteer Arm Shields

Attached are 6 Foreign Volunteer Shields that made up part of a trade some time ago.

I would be grateful for you to have a look and express your opinions. As you can see, these have all been cut from a roll. I scoured the forum as thoroughly as possible without results. Help me please. . .

    With gratitude always,
    Dan

France is a post war piece. All the others are original.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

Thank you Bob for your assistance on these shoulder shields. Concerning your thoughts over the "France" shoulder patch, John Angolia's publication, "Cloth Insignia of the SS, updated," page 386, displays a photo of this patch (army style) worn as an SS-Volunteer sleeve shield. Page 387, "displays a photo of a French Waffen-SS volunteer debriefing French-speaking Canadian prisoners during the Normandy battle in 1944. Angolia states "Note the army-pattern shield being worn by the army styled French Waffen-SS sleeve shield be worn." Angolia displays the "Charlemagne" sleeve band and says it was never used. In its place were two styles of the sleeve shield. The French volunteer shield suggested as bad, is clearly recognised by Angolia as an army style volunteer shield with a photo of it sewn to the Waffen-SS sleeve, suggesting both styles were interchangeable.

I inadvertently came across this information after requesting help on these patches. Now I am completely confused. Thoughts???
