The tunic is whipcord which is more common with trousers but also was used for tunics. As to the insignia and when it was applied it is pretty tough to say.Comment

These corduroy or whipcord fabric uniforms were very fashionable with Coastal Kriegsmarine officers ....and that's where the breast eagle could have originated from...
so easy to convert to Heer General...
While I can not comment on the originality of the rank insignia, it's application (the tabs) looks too sloppy for it to be genuine...but that's just a hunch...
a theory that it could have started out as a KM coastal artillery uniform...
It is a nice tunic and I guess Heer generals could have worn whatever they wanted really so impossible to prove! (unless the rank insignia turns out to be fake...
not my area of expertise...)

Heer wore these too, whipcord was popular in WWI as well and was also seen and worn usually by higher ranking officers (older WWI Vets etc.) during WWII. Fairly rare to see but there are out there. Also a fabric used by SS-VT, WSS and SA for jackets.Comment

Yes in tan these also exist of course but I was actually referring to this style.....(owned by member Ludwig, cut in same "kord" material...)
Seen more often done on coastal uniforms with golden breast eagles....easy to clone an exotic General's version...
(could be a coincidence of course...not insinuating anything,
as these are private purchase garments!!!!!) So yes possible with all branches even non military like SA in their color)
