Tropical Shoulder Straps - Opinions Please!

    Hi Everybody,

I'd like to ask your opinions if I may, on a couple of pairs of tropical shoulder straps: Flak EM's, and Stabsfeldwebel.

The Flak ones I believe are correct; the Heer ones, I hope are correct but am not sure, hence why I need your opinions. They have clearly been on a tunic, as evidenced by the marks left where the buttons were, though of course this doesn't necessarily mean anything. They also appear to show signs of wear, for example to the backing cloth and waffenfarbe. However, ultimately, I'm just not up enough on construction methods and correct materials for tropical straps to know.

So, please, let me know what you think.

    Thanks for looking.

    All the best,
    Toby.

The green-piped ones ( Gebirgsjäger ones - hard to find ! ) seem to be Ok from these pictures. The aging looks convincing from what I can make-out on these pictures.
Just the pips, any sign of them being there for 60 years ? I doubt they've been there that long.

                    MfG,
                    Bart

                      Hi Bart,

Thanks for replying. I'll try and capture this with a photograph but the straps are clearly discolored / dirty / marked under and around the pips, in a similar fashion to the mark where the button would have rubbed the strap. Were I to remove the pips, I think we would be left with three diamond shapes on the fabric.

I must confess I thought they were Panzergrenadier?

                      All the best,
                      Toby.

The green piped set is a very nice original set IMO.

The red piped straps are ( probably Czech )reproductions as far as I know..
Can you post the backs of the red ones a little larger ?

                        Jos.

                          Hi Jos,

Thanks for replying. I had to laugh when I read your reply since, as you'll know from my initial text, I thougth the Flak were okay. Oh well!

Is it possible for you to tell me what I overlooked on the Flak ones?

                          All the best,
                          Toby.

                            @ Jos,

Hopefully, these pics will help. Unfortunately, my scanner is kaputt, and it is too dark outside now for natural light.

                            Thanks,
                            Toby.
