Sleeve Edelweiss trimmed in Red?

A dealer at the Max had a sleeve Edelweiss trimmed in Art. red cloth. It looked very professional and the badge itself was real, even if the trimming was not. Any thoughts as to originality?

I don't have reference to this being original. They turn up from time to time, also in black. Could be this was a personal addition, but I doubt it to be genuine WW2. Have not seen any photographic evidence.
