Hello fellow members.

I picked up on this item from a nice member here and with comparing research trying to determine what is the purpose of this press stud or grommet visible on the reverse center mass of the hem for if anyone can be of assistance please. I can't find this on other examples as of just yet.

Any other comments are welcome and deeply appreciated. Thank you for your time and expertise.

It might have been used to hold the coat down like a GJ anorak. Just a guess.

That was kind'a my guess too, like a G-String?

I know you must recall those O.D. green army parkas we had with the longer diagonal cut tails in the back, didn't they have it set up to wrap/fasten around the legs or front somehow similar?

The old parkas had snaps and pull strings in the tails of the V on the back that you could draw between your legs and snap down sort of like a diaper but if you did that you could not run- not that you could in Mickey Mouse boots anyway .
