    The mountain troopers patch looks OK some one has added a border to it but who? I have never seen one like it. timothy

            I sometimes see these at shows.
            The edelweiss seems to always be the field gray type,
            that was available from certain dealers in bundles of 10
            tied together back in the '80's.
            I always had my doubts about them, never getting one with
            (real) wear, and never one from various GJ lots I've purchased over
            many years.
            Having said that, I doubt these examples with various waffenfarbe piping
            are not original wartime done.
            Not something I'd add to my collection!

              Thanks for the comments. I bought this badge as part of a lot. I was interested in other things in the lot. I was just not sure about this item, so I appreciate the feedback.

                I would like the see these in period photos before I would believe they were made during the War. I have seen Jager badges with piping like this and also Jager and GJ patches with officers silver braid around them like that found on officers overseas caps.
