I'm the proud new owner of this item. I'd be even more proud if I new what it was. I'm thinking some sort of Heer jacket but would appreciate any and all opinions/advice as to authenticity, value etc.

Hello sir,

I once had a simular one, its a copy ore reenactor piece.
Wrong fabric,denim look, like mentioned ground dug buttons on new fabric
there are similar good heer ones on the forum, just type in heer snipersmock, tarnjacke ore something like that. I would try to retrieve my money with this one and wait for an other to show up

cammo smock

Modern repo of Tan Water sniper smock with gauze face shield in hood. These are around all over for the renactors. That stuff is comming into the collector field big time. Colors are close but not there. There is a good real one posted over on German Helmet Wallhalla you will be able to see the difference. Real ones aren't cheap. timothy
